Through 44 races in states, protectorates, and someplace called Americans Abroad, Barack Obama holds a 13,594,269 to 12,802,480 lead over Hillary Clinton. That is a margin of 791,789 votes, or 51.5% to 48.5%. By way of context, Barack’s popular vote lead is greater than Hillary’s margins in California and New York combined. Beyond the overall total, however, the breakdown of votes based on publicly available exit polls shows some fascinating things.
