Infographic: The Economic Future for Non-College Women is Bleak

Technology continues to shape what jobs are in high demand and which are becoming obsolete or radically different. While many technological changes will benefit workers, non-college women are more at risk to bear poor outcomes created by these changes. It is crucial that policymakers understand the economic situations of non-college women and what technological change means for their future employment prospects. That way, we can make improvements to ensure better opportunities lie ahead.
This poster highlights the research presented in our memo The Future for Non-College Women is Bleak, which unpacks how the changing nature of work in the next decade will disproportionately impact non-college women.
It was presented at the 32nd Annual International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) Conference held in Rome, Italy. The conference’s theme was “Caught Between the Digital Revolution and a Crisis of Democracy: Feminist Economics Responses and Imaginations for the Future.”
