Relief, Rescue, Rebuild
There has been a lot of talk recently about the concept of a “green recovery” and “building back better” from the COVID-19 economic downturn. But what do these concepts really mean? What are the most compelling ideas being put forward by economists, policymakers, grassroots leaders, and other experts?
What kinds of actions will produce the best results in terms of economic growth, improved health, lower emissions, and greater resilience? Which policies could not only help build America back from the current crisis but also lay a foundation for weathering through the next one?
These are questions that the Political Climate podcast will explore in a new podcast series called “Relief, Rescue, Rebuild,” sponsored by Third Way. Earlier this year, the partnership launched a series called “Path to Zero,” which explored the technologies and policies needed to drive down carbon emissions rapidly. In response to current events, the podcast series is shifting its focus to the path to economic recovery and what that would look like if equitable, low-carbon solutions at the core.
“Relief, Rescue, Rebuild” episodes will air monthly on the Political Climate, a podcast on energy and environmental issues in America, presented by the USC Schwarzenegger Institute.
