Voters Support Gun Safety Reforms
In the nearly 30 years since the federal government passed comprehensive gun regulations, countless mass shootings have propelled the gun control conversation into a polarized clash between left and right. But opinions on Capitol Hill and media headlines are not always reflective of what voters actually want. To learn what Americans actually think about gun safety reforms, Third Way, in partnership with GS Strategy Group, surveyed likely voters across the ideological spectrum in six key states. This series of research aims to highlight how regulations like closing the “boyfriend” loophole, enhanced background checks, implementing “red flag” laws, and other gun safety regulations are widely popular among the American people, regardless of party affiliation or gun ownership status.
