Soft Around the Middle

92% of all parents expect their children to go to college; an admirable aspiration. But many U.S. kids are falling short of this achievement, and not just those from households below the poverty line. Just 28% of middle-class-high-school graduates earn a 4-year degree.

Improving our middle-class schools will help us to build a more robust and dynamic workforce, and lift our long-term economic prospects.
