Red Alert: Putin Puppet Jill Stein and her Russia-Friendly Agenda

Voters considering support for Jill Stein’s presidential campaign must be aware that she is running almost openly as an agent of Russian President Vladimir Putin. And she is parroting Russian and MAGA talking points about Joe Biden, while barely mentioning Donald Trump. That’s why they know she’s useful to them as a spoiler that can help Trump win.

Here’s why anyone sickened by Putin and horrified by Trump should steer clear of Jill Stein in 2024:

Jill Stein is a Russian asset.

• Stein is pals with Vladimir Putin and his team: She joined MAGA extremist Michael Flynn as the only Americans to sit with Putin at a dinner in Moscow in 2015.
• At an event in New York that same year, she met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. – NBC News; Jill Stein
• The Russians helped Stein in 2016: “Russians working under the direction of the Internet Research Agency, the firm run by a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, tweeted the phrase ‘Jill Stein’ over 1,000 times around the time of the election. The posts were often accompanied by variations of the same hashtag, ‘Grow a spine and vote Jill Stein…’ – NBC News (December 22, 2018)
• And Stein touted their propaganda in return: In 2015, Stein “recorded a video from Moscow’s famous Red Square, in which she talked about ‘the need to rein in American exceptionalism’ and replace ‘a U.S. policy based on domination’—words that sounded like they were ripped from Putin’s talking points.” – POLITICO (June 20, 2017). During the campaign of 2016, Stein “parroted the Russian position on Ukraine and criticized the U.S. for installing a government in Kiev ‘hostile to Russia.’” – NBC News (December 22, 2018)
• She still sounds like a Russian propogandist on Putin’s invasion of Ukraine: “Russia’s invasion was a provoked response to the bigger, more murderous and illegal game plan of US empire - in which ‘overextending’ and defeating Russia is only one small part of the picture… In 2014 the US backed a coup in Ukraine led by far-right insurrectionists. The installation of the new government was a giant step towards the goal of adding Ukraine to NATO - and putting hostile bases and nuclear-capable missiles right on Russia's border.” – Jill Stein (February 24, 2022)

Stein attacks Biden, not Trump. (Just like Putin.)

• Abortion: Stein has never criticized Trump or his Supreme Court picks for overturning Roe, but she attacks Joe Biden for it: Stein says Biden is “holding our bodies hostage for political posturing…” and “Biden’s pledge to [codify Roe] disappeared.” – Jill Stein (May 3, 2022)
• Climate: Stein makes false attacks about Joe Biden’s climate investment law: “Biden has betrayed every voter who believed his climate promises.” – Jill Stein (April 12, 2024)
  “Biden has put climate progress into hard reverse.” – Jill Stein (March 12, 2023) Even as Stein campaigned for climate action in 2016, she owned nearly $1 million in stock “that maintain[ed] significant stakes in Exxon and other energy companies like Chevron, Duke Energy, Conoco Phillips, and Toho Gas.” – Daily Beast (October 26, 2016)
• Democracy: Stein believes that Biden and Democrats are fascist and pose a threat to democracy: “The Democrats are leading the charge in war and censorship, and co-leading the assault on working people and democracy.   “I think the Democrats also pose very serious threats to democracy…They have their own way of undermining the integrity of our elections…Democrats are leading the charge in the attack on free speech, freedom of the press, the right to protest.” – Jill Stein, TruthDig (December 18, 2023)
• Health Care: Stein ignores and lies about Biden’s expansion of the Affordable Care Act and prescription drug reform: She lies about Biden strengthening the power of Medicare, saying, “Once again, Biden is proving more Trumpian than Trump.” – Jill Stein (October 11, 2022)
• Immigration: Stein lies about Biden’s immigration policy: She asserts it’s the same as Trump’s, that it “would rip more families apart, put more kids in cages,” and that “Biden is looking more like Trump every day.” – Jill Stein (December 14, 2023)
• Biden’s Age: Stein says Biden has cognitive decline: “Joe Biden is showing he doesn't have the cognitive faculties to run a successful campaign for President, much less do the job.” – Jill Stein (March 2, 2020)

Russia and the MAGA right are using Stein as a spoiler to help Trump.

• Megyn Kelly cheers Stein on as a spoiler: “Go, Jill, go! You go sister…We knew that she was a spoiler, but going back and reading just how big of a spoiler is interesting. In 2016, Stein drew 1.4 million votes nationally as the Green Party nominee...Clinton lost Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin to Trump by fewer votes than Stein received.
