A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Andy LaVigne has worked in the political sphere since finding himself in coordinated campaign headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, in June of 2002. He spent the 2000's working on an array of electoral and issue efforts, from Presidential campaigns (ask him about the Gephardt Administration) to state legislative caucuses to congressional races. In 2010, he managed the re-elect for Congressman Ben Chandler in Kentucky's 6th CD—Chandler won by 643 votes in a Republican-leaning seat, and Andy was made a Kentucky Colonel. In 2011, he joined the International Association of Fire Fighters' political department, where he built training programs, advised local and state campaign efforts, and steered PAC spending for the union. He was promoted twice, serving eventually as the Political Director and quarterbacking the IAFF's efforts on behalf of Joe Biden throughout 2019 & 2020. In 2021, he finally made the career move he'd first wanted to make since a college internship, and went to work in the U.S. House, serving as the executive director for the Blue Dog Coalition and their PAC. He advised Members, staff, and candidates on message, legislative strategy, and campaign tactics, helping independent-minded Democrats create brands that withstood the headwinds of the national party in tough seats. He joined Third Way in April of 2024, helping build political programs and structures to empower and support the commonsense (read: winning!) wing of the Democratic Party. Andy is married to Jessica Post; they have a young daughter and an anxious but wonderful rescue dog. He is an avid fly-fisherman, and just barely avoided a career as an itinerant fishing guide & tackle salesman.
