With a background at the intersection of media and policy, Emily Becker is the Deputy Director of Communications for Third Way’s Climate and Energy Team. She believes in the power of communications to move the needle on important policy issues and effect change where it’s needed. She came to Third Way to put that belief into practice, and help talented professionals share their insights with policymakers, business leaders, and other key stakeholders.
She previously served as Press Secretary for the office of Senator Peter Welch (D-VT), where she focused on making sure complex policy ideas resonate beyond the Beltway. She was also a founding employee at Pineapple Street Studios, a podcast production company in Brooklyn, NY.
Emily holds a BA from Middlebury College and an MPA from the Environmental Science and Policy program at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
She lives in Washington, D.C. with her dog Birdy and can usually be found drinking seltzer. Her favorite podcasts are Who? Weekly and Normal Gossip.
