A Day in the Life at Third Way
People First
Third Way’s top priority is our employees and their experience. We listen to and learn from our employees to build a community of shared values.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
Non-Discrimination and Inclusivity Third Way is committed to fostering an environment where nondiscrimination and consideration are fully integrated into our culture. Third Way’s drive towards inclusivity encourages us to recruit with intention and purpose and allows us to celebrate the range of viewpoints within our workplace. Third Way’s commitment to equality presents opportunities to recognize 4 of 5 and treat one another fairly, respectfully, and with dignity. Third Way's intentionality towards belonging is to ensure we ask for and value feedback, we acknowledge and respect differences, we offer opportunities for full engagement, and we provide growth and development opportunities for all employees.
Annual Staff Retreats
Every summer, Third Way staff gathers for a two-day retreat outside of DC. We create space to relax, learn about our colleagues as people, and discover new ways to actualize Third Way's mission and objectives.
Buddy Program
We want all new employees to understand that they belong at Third Way. The Buddy Program connects New Employees with a Third Way Buddy to support the new employee’s transition into Third Way. The Buddy is a primary access point for entry into Third Way’s office culture, social network, contextual background, and unique language. New employees and their buddies are paired for the new employee’s first 90 days and during that time, there is lots to do: coffees, lunches, chats with colleagues around the office, and more!
Employee Referral Bonus
Third Way recognizes our employees are our best recruitment partners. Third Way offers bonus referral awards for the successful hire of your referred candidate. Award amounts vary based on job opportunity; terms and conditions apply.
Professional Development
Third Way's Learning and Organizational Development Program focuses entirely on our staff's professional development. Regardless of your title and experience, you'll have internal and external opportunities to grow into your role, our organization, and the larger DC policy space.
Flexible and Hybrid Work Schedules
Third Way knows that flexibility increases talent acquisition and retention, employee engagement, job satisfaction, and overall higher productivity. That is why we offer our staff schedules to work remotely and in-office while ensuring every employee enjoys a balanced hybrid work experience that offers community, collaboration, belonging, as well as flexibility.
Health and Wellness
Third Way’s health and wellness program is more than just physical fitness. We provide information, trainings, and activities for physical, financial, social, and mental wellness through programming that focuses on different aspects of wellness each quarter.
