Anika has been interested in politics from an early age. She vividly remembers begging her parents to stay up past her bedtime to watch the first presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain. When she asked her dad who was the “good guy” and the “bad guy,” her dad challenged her to figure it out for herself. This question has led Anika on a lifelong journey of asking questions, learning, and always looking to support the public good. She chose to follow her passions at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she received her Bachelor’s in Political Science and Strategic Communications.

Anika began her political career working for the Office of Congressman Tim Ryan in Washington, DC. During her time there, she worked closely with both the policy team and the Communications Director, which sparked her passion for political communications. While on Capitol Hill, she and a fellow intern co-wrote a bill about international drug policy which was presented on the House floor in June of 2022. As she left the Capitol building on her last day of work, she knew without a doubt that she would travel back to DC after graduation. When she found Third Way, it was no question in her mind that she would be working for the good guys.

She joins Third Way as an executive coordinator where she works closely with the Economics team as well as the Social policy, Education, and Politics team.
