Victoria was born and raised in the heart of Appalachia, where she completed her B.A. in International Studies and Dance from West Virginia University. After completing these degrees, traveling to a few new places, and navigating a world changed by a pandemic, Victoria began her M.A. in International Development, specializing in Community Development and Social Innovation for Global Impact at American University in Washington D.C. During her graduate studies Victoria began shifting her research interests closer to home. Growing up as a native West Virginian, Victoria has witnessed the long-term impacts of the fossil fuel industry, which has driven her passion for advocating and innovating to address old problems in new ways. Before joining Third Way, Victoria worked in the startup world at a consulting firm concentrating on energy efficiency, specifically within low-income populations in New Mexico. Starting as an intern and moving into a full-time role as the team's Marketing and Community Engagement Specialist, Victoria worked on a state-level contract for the Energy Conservation Management Division of the State of New Mexico's Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department. Victoria's research interests lie in advocacy, innovation, and environmental justice and equity. As she holds a lifelong passion for dance, Victoria currently serves as the Performance Outreach Coordinator for the West Virginia Dance Education Organization, advocating for equal access to dance education for students K-12 throughout West Virginia. Outside the office, Victoria is active at the gym, taking dance classes, traveling, cuddling her two cats, Mac, and Mo, and rooting hard for WVU sports.
