Graduate Education
Students pursue graduate education for many reasons: to advance in their careers, increase their earning potential, expand their work opportunities, and more. In fact, nearly half of federal student loan debt is held by those who pursued a credential after their bachelor’s degree—many of whom also borrowed for their undergraduate studies. But how much do we really know about the value of a graduate education? Are students happy with the quality of their programs and their outcomes after graduation? Which jobs really need more than a four-year credential? This series of resources aims to fill a void in higher education research and policy by exploring these questions and how we can ensure that a graduate degree is worth it.
