Nicholas’ interest in climate change was sparked at none other than his elementary school’s Scholastic Book Fair in Northern Virginia. Who would have thought that an innocent quest into the book fair’s non-fiction section would lead to a lifelong passion for environmental science and policy? Prior to joining Third Way, Nicholas was up in Boston earning his M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy and his B.S. in Environmental Science with a minor in Psychology at Northeastern University. Through his graduate coursework, Nicholas was also able to solidify his passion for environmental justice and equity, centering his studies on issues related to urban heat adaptation and mitigation, green gentrification, and public transit improvement. While studying at Northeastern, Nicholas worked as a research assistant for the university’s Social Ecological Sustainability Lab, a policy research co-op for a solar energy blockchain start-up in South Korea, and a sensory R& D co-op at the Boston Beer Company. As the Policy Advisor for Carbon Management for Third Way’s Climate and Energy Program, Nicholas supports the program’s efforts to accelerate the development and deployment of carbon management technologies in pursuit of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Outside of work, Nicholas can be found playing ultimate frisbee, making music or simply eating good food with good friends.
